First Order Difference Based Fuzzy Filter for Removal of High Density Impulse Noise from Color Images

چکیده

In this paper, we present a novel method for the removal of impulse noise from digital color images. The proposed filter, called the First Order Difference based Fuzzy Filter. It operates in two stages detection of impulse noise and prediction of noise density using alpha trimmed mean followed by denoising, using first order difference and fuzzy filter .Experimental results demonstrate to be superior to state-of-the-art filters. The proposed filter is also shown to be robust at very high levels of noise and detail preservation .A good image quality can be evidenced by PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio). Our method has consistently higher PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) value than the comparison methods. And the computation time speed of proposed method is faster than the comparison method.
